![]() ![]() *If you want to know what "accidentally" means, it was THE ONE TIME I ran out of torches. Yet while he is a risky fight to take, he does offer a slew of special and powerful Trinkets which can only be given as a reward for fighting him. Maybe he got a string of failed retreats? I know last time I accidentally ran into a Shambler,* it took a few tries to retreat successfully. The Shambler is a force to be reckoned with, giving players pause to play the game at low light levels for risk of encountering him. If you're playing with standard options, however, retreat is not a guaranteed success. Why didn't you just retreat.? You can retreat starting up to round 2, since you can't retreat if you get surprised. Probably the first fight so far to really give the game a true lovecraftian feeling for me at least.īut whatever, I'll just make sure to never interact with a mysterious looking obelisk again. Still, the real suprise was two of my heroes becoming virtuous during this battle making the desperation more intense as they fell one by one to this incomprehensible thing. ![]() ![]() Not difficult, but I did have to change up my strategy a bit. about 4-6 times, even though I'm 85+ weeks into the game, I think it's pretty good, the trinkets of lower rarity are as common as a stack of 1,5k gold, you can find some in pretty much every encounter.Originally posted by Stratomsk:The Cove was interesting as I had never been there before. It depends on the players, I, personally, play "black as pitch" for few reasons:ġ) The challenge it's much more entertaining for me,even if sometimes unfair things happen (Like a two crit Howls from Ghoul), it's a testament to your own grit and resolve for when situation seems hopeless and impossible to overcome, it's very satisfying to recover from something like that and continue.Ģ) The music and atmosphere the track that plays in a corridor and empty rooms when your light is 0 is my favourite one, it adds tension to the game, immerses you into the atmosphere better.ģ) The loot Even though there's so much of it in "black as pitch" runs that in Long missions I always throw 1 firewood away, cause I have no need for it, plus it also takes up a space in inventory, it's still worth it, cause very often you can replace stacks of 1,5k gold with stacks of rubies, sapphiers, onyxies and emeralds, since they're easier to come by in "black as pitch".Īs for trinkets, I happened to find ancestral trinkets in things like eerie spiderweb, iron maidens and etc. ![]()
